Are you a qualified nurse?
You hold a nursing qualification (diploma or degree) and registration in your home country.
English language
You can meet IELTS / OET requirements set by the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ).
IQN / OSCE pathway
You are ready to sit the IQN theory exam and OSCE to gain NZ registration.
Health & character
You can meet Immigration New Zealand health and character requirements.
Visa pathways
New Zealand actively welcomes nurses — several routes lead to residence.
Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)
For nurses with a job offer from an accredited NZ employer — the most common route.
Straight to Residence
Registered nurses are on the Green List, offering a fast-tracked residence pathway.
Work to Residence
Work in NZ and transition to residence after meeting the criteria.
